Welcome
Quest: pay forward – spreading my learnings from true masters
What’s in these blogs? Actuary seeing InsurTech changing legacy insurance, aha-learning moments, some philosophy when overwhelmed!

Life Actuary, Bangalorean, trekker, dog-lover, in the fifties, and feel time fleeting by. Love teaching; get lost in books, and never got a grip on meditation 🙁
Basically feeling there is so much to do in life and at the same time yarning for that stillness of having nothing to do!
Find that equanimity to live life in the moment, to contentedly walk into that last moment of life, as innocent as was my first moment.
Live an impactful life and champion actuarial profession; Grow continuously and pay-forward the joy of knowing, being lucky in the first place to have found great teachers!
Grew up in North Karnataka; majored in Physics and joined Govt. of India as an indirect tax Inspector. After almost a decade found my calling to be an actuary. Worked with an Indian life insurer, now with a global reinsurer, happily mentoring a large team and learning challenging human dynamics, nothing is more fascinating than to watch bright minds come together across generations, races, gender, and countries to make things happen!
Decades of experience in Life and Health re/insurance, have good insights and grasp on how global primary life and health insurers operate, and how operating and governing models are set up. Have created large collaborative team structures, and have developed strategic frameworks for work and people management.
Passionate about technology, an avid follower of Insurtech, and in general of tech innovation resulting from increasing computing power. Actively participate in professional forums to discuss innovations. Believe that cloud, AI/ML, and Blockchain are disruptive to current business models, quantum computing further accentuating.
Hands-on coder, believe future actuaries need to have a data mindset and be conversant with large data analytical tools, actively push associates for developing these skills.
